Composed of clear, massive quartz with tourmaline rod inclusions, this unique gemstone is also an ancient one,
with records dating back to prehistoric times when aboriginal hunters in africa used the stone to craft arrowhead and spear tips,
much like obsidian was! Nowadays, it is a very popular specimen for collections,
as well as for use in costume jewelry!
It is most commonly found in Brazil, allthough central africa, and australia have also yielded specimens!
Very rarely, colored tourmaline is also found in quartz! Though the vast majority of these are exclusive to brazil!
